Please reach us at matt@rossautoelectrical.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
At this point in time, all we offer is oil changes. We are in the process of moving into a new space (exciting times ahead) and this new space will furnish us with the ability to carry out PRE-MOT inspections and up to 150-point inspections with our oil changes/services. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more updates but for now, why not see if we can pass you on to a reputable mechanical repair workshop in our network?
You don't. No-one does. People tend to rely heavily on their chosen mode of transport and that is completely normal. So when it takes a turn for the worst, they want it back on the road pronto. Families, kids, commutes, professions, careers.... they all tend to rely on a mode of transport. There is no such thing as a quick fix in the auto-electrical industry and unfortunately, this is a hard lesson of vehicle ownership. Whether you are new to motoring, or an experienced motorist, an electrical fault can and will catch you by surprise almost every time. All we can offer is experience, the right mindset, knowledge and the right tools for the right job.
There is no quick answer to this question. Possibly yes, possibly no. What we can guarantee is that you will receive the correct service, reporting, estimation, quotation, documentation and the highest quality of repair work and diagnostic at all times. It is rare, but we don't always win. What we can promise, is that we will try.
"Parts Darts" is a term given to an act of throwing parts at a vehicle with a fault and hoping that you achieve a solution. It is a costly, time-consuming/wasting, pointless activity that unfortunately many take practice in. A good technician will spend more time on diagnostic, replacing as few parts as possible and achieve the solution to the fault. That is the long and short of specialist diagnostic. The bonus? It saves you money. The encore? It's the right thing to do.
In the UK, the "IMI" are responsible for overseeing the Motor Industry. We are proud members of the IMI, with the correct certifications, qualifications, membership and the correct insurances in place to ensure that your vehicle remains in safe and competent hands, throughout it's entire journey with us.
In short, no. The UK implemented its own legislation, the Competition Act 1998 (Motor Vehicle Agreements Block Exemption) Order 2023 (MVBEO), to replace the retained EU law (The Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER)), which remains in force until 2029. The main purpose of the regulation is to ensure that motorists have choices when it comes to vehicle maintenance and repair. The proviso, being that you should always opt for manufacturer recommended parts when replacing faulty components/serviceable items.
The choice is yours, entirely. However, we can provide dealer-level diagnostic for Ford, Mercedes-Benz and the VAG group (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda etc). Through our extensive experience, knowledge and technical training we are able to meet the diagnostic level of most well known brands in the UK. We have access to some of the most up-to-date diagnostic technology and we have an ethos and a logical pathway that has proven it's place in the industry time and time again.
Generally, no. For routine maintenance and general upkeep your local garage (providing they are trustworthy) should be able to meet your needs. As specialist auto-electricians, we provide a service that is normally only required when all other avenues have been exhausted. Of course, we are there to provide advice and to retrofit auxiliary electrical components, but should you encounter a difficult to diagnose fault, or a non-start condition with a lack of diagnostic tell-tales, rest assured we are there to provide a specialist diagnostic service from start to finish.
Although we specialise in Auto-Electrics, we are highly qualified mechanics and do still offer general fitting tasks. Our labour rate is slightly higher than most fitting garages (because of our speciality) so please enquire before hand. We also work with a network of local established mechanical repair workshops that we can forward you on to should the need arise.
We offer trade discounts for individuals looking to book a trade repair or appointment. Proof of trade status would be required to be eligible for trade discount.
We accept bank transfer and cash. We refuse to be party to massive card machine costs and therefore every penny you spend with us, feeds back into the local business economy. We are also proud sponsors of certain charities and local sports teams.
