Customer Terms & Conditions 2026
By booking an appointment with Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Specialist Diagnostic Services
Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd provides specialist vehicle electrical diagnostics, fault finding, programming and repair services. Diagnostic work is an investigative process designed to identify the cause of a fault. Due to the complexity of modern vehicle systems, it is not always possible to identify every fault or complete a repair during a single appointment.
Diagnostic Charges
Diagnostic services are chargeable irrespective of whether a fault is identified, repaired or additional work is recommended. Payment is for the time, expertise, specialist equipment and technical investigation undertaken.
Estimates & Quotations
Any quotation or estimate provided before or during an investigation is given in good faith based on the information available at that time. Further faults or additional work may only become apparent once testing or dismantling has commenced. We will seek your authorisation before carrying out additional chargeable work wherever reasonably practicable.
Parts
Parts supplied and fitted by Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd may include a reasonable commercial mark-up to cover sourcing, procurement, handling, warranty administration and associated business costs.
Special-order or non-returnable parts may require payment in advance.
Parts required with a value over £500 will (under normal circumstances) require the customer to complete a parts requisition waiver.
Existing Faults & Vehicle Condition
Customers remain responsible for any faults, defects or damage that existed before our work commenced.
Many vehicles presented for diagnosis have pre-existing electrical faults, previous repairs, corrosion, water ingress, accident damage, aftermarket modifications or hidden defects. The discovery of additional faults during or after our investigation does not indicate that those faults have been caused by Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd.
Previous Repairs
Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd accepts no responsibility for the workmanship, quality or suitability of repairs, modifications or installations carried out by third parties before our involvement.
Warranty
Warranty applies only to the parts supplied and fitted by Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd and to the workmanship directly relating to those parts, subject to the applicable warranty terms.
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied parts where applicable.
Customer-Supplied Parts
We cannot guarantee the quality, suitability or compatibility of customer-supplied parts and accept no liability for failures arising from their installation.
Vehicle Collection & Storage
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Vehicles not collected within 48 hours of notification that work has been completed may incur storage charges of £5.00 per calendar day unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.
Limitation of Liability
Ross Auto-Electrical Ltd is responsible only for the work carried out by us and the parts supplied and fitted by us.
We are not liable for unrelated faults, pre-existing defects, normal wear and tear, corrosion, water ingress, manufacturer defects, previous repairs or modifications, or any consequential losses resulting from vehicle downtime or loss of use, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Road Testing & Vehicle Movement
Where necessary, we may road test, reposition or operate your vehicle as part of the diagnostic or repair process.
Data Protection
Customer information is processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and is used only for the administration of bookings, repairs, warranty and legal obligations. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
